Hon’ble Justice Chameli Majumder retired with the status of the judge of high court, former judge, Central Administrative Tribunal. She was judicial member cum vice- chairman of Central Administrative Tribunal. She is one of the most influential judge of her era who has delivered landmark judgments on Administrative Law and Service Law, regularly reported in All India Service Law Journal.

Currently holds the position of Regional Director, Global Vision India foundation, West Bengal which is affiliated with United Nations and their representative for UNITED NATIONS. She is also presently appointed as an Arbitrator in commercial disputes by the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta. She is also a Visiting faculty of Indian Institute of legal studies and S.K. Acharya Institute of law.

She has extensive experience in legal field. Practiced in Civil and Constitutional Law in Calcutta High Court and occasionally in Supreme Court of India. Acted as Senior Government Advocate in Calcutta High Court for 5 years.

She is also very active in other extracurricular activities. She stood first in All Bengal recitation competition in the year 1973. Performed recitation, drama, talks in Yuva-Bani, All India Radio, Kolkata since its inception. Was appointed as member of the advisory committee of Yova-Bani. Worked as production assistant at Doordarshan Kolkata. Organised and participated in cultural programme including Bengali drama at Calcutta High Court. While staying at Bombay participated in cultural activities including recitation, organised by Bengali association at Rabindra Natya Mandir and Jawaharlal Nehru Center.

She is Engaged in various social and socio legal activities. She has addressed in many seminars and conferences on legal awareness, women empowerment, prevention of domestic violence and trafficking. She was keynote speaker in SAARK conference organised by IILS, Siliguri, invited as speaker in SAARK conference by Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association.
